If we talk about white fish, in my subjective opinion, pike perch is the most delicious. However, finding it and catching it is much more difficult than catching pike or perch.Pike perch is caught on "jig", "trolling", "uniform wiring" or "twitching" of small wobblers. Each of these types of fishing is effective at certain times of the day.
Usually in the summer, in the daytime, the pike perch is at the bottom and begins to rise to the surface closer to dusk in search of fry. It is for this reason that trolling anglers catch it from evening to morning. At the same time, you can successfully catch small wobblers in the "cast". But to do this, you need to know in which places the pike perch feeds and keeps near the surface.
I prefer to catch on a "jig" (A heavy load with a hook on which a rubber nozzle similar to a fish is attached). This bait allows you to catch walleye from the bottom, where it spends most of its time. Best of all, the jig is caught in July and the first half of August, from morning to lunch. Of course, you can catch walleye after lunch, but this happens less often. This type of fishing requires a lot of patience, as bites usually happen in series. I.e. you can catch 4 hours and not feel a single bite, or you can catch a dozen individuals in an hour.
A special feature of the zander's structure is its oral cavity. It is very hard and for this reason it is not always possible to break it with a hook when cutting. To do this, it is advisable to catch on a spinning rod with a hard tip. Yes, this worsens its sensitivity, but this is compensated by the fact that we catch at decent depths (6-12 meters) and heavy loads (20-30 grams) can be used there.
